Coffee and a blog.

without comments

It’s that time again. My morning coffee. Ahh..

Nothing like escaping the husband and the 5 month old baby on the morning commute, and then of course to top it off with a McDonald’s premium roast decaf coffee with “2 creams and 3 sugars.” It’s my first real time to myself. Oh sure there is that 30 minutes on the treadmill where I am sweating and praying for superstrong lungs, but this is my more “relaxing” moment before the crap hits the fan at work. When the heat goes out in Columbia

with 2 comments

Sufficed to say, we didn’t sleep very well trying to huddle together and stay warm. The dogs did the same. Read the rest of this entry »

What are Gazelle Chicks?

with one comment

I was just thinking, and Chaka42 and the rest of you feel free to comment on this, but probably a lot of people out there are not real familiar with the meaning behind our blog title. It’s actually quite simple. We are all ladies who are really into saving money and budgeting. We have read and follow, and some of us even teach, the financial wisdom of Dave Ramsey. We chicks are “Gazelle Intense” and actively trying to change our financial situation. We’re pretty happy with how it is going, and encourage others to learn more about money and finances so they can make smart decisions!

without comments

Ok, I’m not one for school fundraising. I’ll be honest. Maybe it’s because I got burned so many times in my childhood. (Chocolates for choir anyone??) Read the rest of this entry »

I don’t really like dealing with politicians..

with 2 comments

I heard Dave Ramsey say the other day, “I don’t really like dealing with politicians, of any kind. There’s a few of them I know that I like, but they’re just a handful. The rest of them, I tolerate, and that’s even the one’s I like what they stand for, they just bother me.” When he got done with his daily rant, all I could say was “Amen.” Read the rest of this entry »
