Gazelle Chicks

Things have been so crazy for us this semester. I’m taking 2 classes at our church that are pretty involved and Matt is taking another class in addition. It seems like we’re at church all the time. Church staff lovingly call folks like us unpaid staff. And I couldn’t agree more with that.

Last night, we had planned on staying home and skipping the Wednesday night service. As part of the leadership community at our church, we are told to be there a maximum of 3 days. Usually, we can abide by that rule. This semester has been the exception and I understand why they have that rule in place.

Matt had class Monday, Recovery class was on Tuesday, and last night, we went to the baptism service. Tonight, we have Financial Peace, which we are the ministry leaders for. I mentioned we weren’t going to attend the Wednesday night service, but those plans changed when a friend of ours called and asked us to be there. Her and her husband were getting baptized. I made a quick call to Matt and we both agreed to go. We also agreed to not go to church this weekend. We were going to take the weekend off.

I talked to one our associate pastors, we are watching their kids for the weekend, about our plans, and he said it would be good to take that time off and relax with family. So, that’s what we’re going to do. I told Matt we could just get caught up on Monday via podcast.
